About Us
Insulation
Insulation is a material used to reduce the flow of heat, sound, or electricity. In the context of homes, it’s primarily used to slow down heat transfer between the inside and outside of a building, improving energy efficiency and comfort. This can be achieved by trapping air, reflecting radiant heat, or impeding heat transfer through conduction and convection.
Thermal insulation
Reduces heat flow, keeping a building warmer in winter and cooler in summer.
Acoustic insulation
Reduces sound transmission, making a home quieter.
Electrical insulation
Prevents electrical current from flowing through unintended paths.
Common insulation materials:
Fiberglass
A common and versatile material, available in various forms like batts, rolls, and loose fill.
Cellulose
Made from recycled paper, often used in loose fill applications
Foam
Rigid or spray-in foams, offering good insulating properties and air sealing.
Mineral Wool
Mineral WoolMade from natural minerals, available in batts and rolls.
Natural Fibers
Options like cotton, sheep’s wool, and straw offer sustainable and often eco-friendly solutions.
Gutters
Gutters are long, shallow troughs mounted along the edge of a roof’s eaves. Their primary purpose is to collect rainwater that flows down the roof and direct it away from the building’s foundation. This helps prevent water damage to the foundation, walls, and landscaping.
Function
Gutters act as a channel to collect and divert water from the roof.
Protection
They prevent water from pooling around the foundation, which can lead to erosion, settling, and cracking.
Downspouts
Water collected in the gutters is then channeled down through downspouts (vertical pipes) to a designated runoff area, away from the house.
Material
Gutters are typically made of metal (like aluminum or steel) or vinyl.
Maintenance
Gutters need to be cleaned regularly to prevent blockages and ensure proper water flow.
